I say The Beatles! I give them props for writing their own music and coming up with a new sound...

But i find their success an exageration. They may have come up with a new sound but their vocals were pretty mediocre and quite frankly i dont like 75% of their hits :rip:

:rip:

OT:  madonna, cher, michael jackson, etc...  there are so many!

About the OP : I like to think that the Beatles were the One Direction of their time. The young girls were CRAZY about them and that was about it. I wasn't there at that time though so I can't really judge

Also, no :grr: You guys are gonna give me heart palpitations. This thread is about who hasn't worked hard enough for their success, and Beyoncé doesn't fall into that category. A true vocal master; she's impeccably talented in that department and we're yet to have heard of Bey ever facing a vocal injury. It's all from years of coaching. She's also an amazing dancer, probably the best we currently have of the major female pop stars. Not to mention, absolutely incredible touring artist. I can't comment on how much input she has on writing or creative direction (although from what I've seen in behind the scenes and such, it looks like a lot more than most would suspect).

The ones dragging Madonna for her vocals are probably also the ones to praise Lipsynchael Jackson :smh:

David Bowie, he sounded awful live, and his song-writing was mediocre at best. But he was unique in style so I'll give him that.

I made sure to go through this whole thread to make sure no one had already defended against this and no one had so :grr::grr::grr:

VOCAAALLSS

Also, he did the majority of his songwring on his own and I think saying it's mediocre is giving way too little credit considering how large his discography is.

NOT OVERATED AT ALL.

Im only like 75% bitter but you're entitled to have your opinions. I just love Bowie so much.
