There's always going to be stan wars tho :|

And it's disgusting, becaude we can't just enjoy what our idols give us and let other people love some other artist in peace. I understand the hate on an artist, but not towards fanbases.

I can understand this attitude, from her and the fans. While I feel there is nothing wrong with a residency (especially if an artist wants to settle down for a bit), it makes it harder on the fans and may stagnate an artist. Concerts are expensive enough, but for many, traveling all the way to Vegas is just not an option (and Vegas is an expensive ass city). For the artist, it can be detrimental because they aren't traveling the world and absorbing bits of regional culture, and don't have as much of a chance to interact with all their different fans. By traveling, the artist is more likely to find inspiration. The different atmospheres (food, landscape, music, fashion, etc) are a kick to the artistic senses. With Madonna's constant reinventions, I can't see her as the type to stay in one place for long.

And again, nothing wrong with Britney or Celine or whom-ever having a residency. By all means. It can serve as a nice break from the stress of traveling, and while the money may not be as good, it's stable and comes with a great many perks. It's just not for everyone.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Tell me where I have bad mouthed Britney??? Because she's like my 3rd fave. I only said she doesn't sing wich is no lie and that I doubt she would sell out a worldwide tour. Omfg......

Cher hated it.  She said it was depressing.  People there to gamble and catch a show but  not a fan and that there was a sea of old people also.   She loved going back out on tour and having the energy of fans.

Madonna doing a Vegas residency would be like hearing Depeche Mode or U2 or Springsteen, all huge touring acts, doing a residency.   Depressing.  It would never happen.  Over their dead bodies also. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get that - but what with the fans worldwide who can't afford a trip to USA to see their artist? What about the fans that helped making the artist a worldwide artist?

I get that too but at the end of the day Madonna is almost an elder. She won't be able to travel around the world like she is used to.

Tell that to the Rolling Stones, with Mick dancing and singing covering miles by the end of the night with how much he's moving and dancing.

He prepares by running eight miles a day, pilates, on and on, to have stamina for being on stage so much moving and singing.  He's in his 70s.   Hah.

Tell that to Bruce Springsteen  in his mid 60s who does like three or four hour shows and tours all the time,

Tell that to Sir Paul McCartney in his 70s touring the world doing a three-hour show.

Madonna will just take the concert down regarding her dancing more and more, but she has more energy and stamina than most of the 20 something pop stars.

haha "an elder" xD

Yeah, and then it becomes understandable to chose Vegas :)

I think it's alright to take a vacancy for a short period. Otherwise it means (to me) that the artist either doesn't care about fans around the world, who made the artist big in the first place, or the artist cares more about $ or stability.

It's feels like turning their back to the fans. Do you imagine Gaga doing that? Being USA/Vegas exclusive? Idk, I hope she never does this. As an artist you can chose to do this but IMO the only benefit is to the artist, so it is alright to do it ofc, but those won't get respect from me at least :noparty:

Yes, because i'm tired of wars between fanbases.

But that's how you create fan base wars by bringing another artist into a thread that has nothing to do with them.

Thos is GAGADaily and it's a thread about Madonna. I think i can talk about Gaga on GagaDaily even if it's a thread about another artist. I'm a monster and i love Madonna so that's not a problem for me. And it shouldn't be a problem because i haven't talked bad about both.

At least the people who are in Vegas show up on time to their concerts :gaycat: plus with Britney, it's worked wonders for her.

All the people you named are not pop stars and they are all males. They were never known for dancing their ass off.

I agree that she is probably never going to do Vegas but she doesn't have more stamina than most young pop stars. Her dancing is less complex now and even her posture has changed. I just hope she and her loyal fans are mature enough to accept that the human body changes with the time and aging is a natural process that can't be stopped. The GP won't understand that and they will just stop going to her shows but hopefully her fans will stay loyal even when she isn't capable to do the things she is famous for.

I may be reaching but I feel like she isn't against a residency, but against Vegas itself. Which I understand, I mean, Vegas is really not her thing.

But if somebody offered to her a 2 year residency at the MSG in New York, or the O2 in London (MJ was going to do it), she would give it a thought. Those cities kinda fit her.
