Perhaps, while Diane was working with Gaga on the track, she made some melody choices that just did not comply well with Gaga's vocal style. You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you. She hasn't memorized the proper modulation so sometimes she slips. I'm pretty sure if she had sang this song 100 times before the performance she wouldn't have any problem.
