Sam Hunt was a philosophy major and a college football player when he became interested in being a musician. After an unsuccessful attempt to pursue his interests in football, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start a career as a musician/songwriter. After writing for other artists, he decided to be a solo artist. Thus, Montevallo, his debut album, was born.
