Marvel's Age of Ultron is aiming to end up among the world's top five highest-grossing films of all time once it opens in Japan next week, making the Avengers series as the first and only franchise to have its first two films peak within the all-time top five. After the global box-office results last weekend were released, the 2nd Avengers film has now out-grossed Disney's Frozen both domestically and worldwide. It's only the 20th film to ever hit $400 million in domestic gross and the 9th film to reach more than $1.2 billion in global box-office gross, both unadjusted for inflation.
