To be honest, it all depends on the effort she puts into promotion and the quality of the song. She isn't doomed forever

Circus managed to ship over 505k and that was Britneys comeback album. Although, tbf, I was expecting ARTPOP to sell more than 258k

It just depends on what she creates and what the masses are listening to on the radio.  EDM is on the way out now. Honestly, The Fame would fit pretty well with whats being played on the radio today. ARTPOPs sound just didn't hit in a way that would generate chart-topping singles.
