I saw her yesterday, and she was being genuine about it. She isn't going to have a personal trainer or nutritionist to help her lose the weight, she's planning on losing it by herself

I could never eat 6000 calories every day though :emma:

That's 3 normal sized jars of Nutella. It can be done.

Purr more, hiss less.

To be honest I really hope that this backfires and has trouble losing it so that she realises that losing weight isn't a walk in the park and is in fact a real mental struggle.

People complaining are stupid. Tbh losing weight is a necessity for many people but excuse after excuse rolls in instead of action.

I used to be fat. I havent been for 8 years. There are very few barriers to being healthy, so if being fat makes you ill or sad, its your own fault. Put down the noodles and get jogging.

Nobody ever died from being healthy. People saying fat people are victimized or made to feel bad... so? They make themselves feel bad half the time and comfort eat, get fatter, develop arthritis and diabetes and die. Why not just get up and stop whinging?

Excuses excuses.

The mental struggle is an excuse though. "Do I exercise or have a pizza?". Its not really a thing. I go through it every day but im not lazy enough to let myself get fat.

P.s. the reason I got healthy is because of a hereditary heart condition in my family brought on by excessive weight.

But I guess when I was told I should lose weight that was bullying and they should have let me risj being dead instead right?

You do realise that people can be genetically predisposed to being overweight. Current research has proven that genetics is a key role in weight gain and body type. You can't just make the assumption that people who are overweight are overweight because they are lazy and make excuse after excuse.

That guy honestly looks gross to me in all three stages. I prefer slim and toned over muscular or meaty...

I don't really see anything wrong tbh. I just don't really think she's proving anything new/that we don't know.

You can lose weight if you drop the excuses & 'shortcuts' and just devote yourself to lose the weight.

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

She has a point in that obesity is a problem, but I don't see how her gaining and losing weight for a TV show really does anything. She says she's not going to lose weight with the help of 'specialists', but lets be real, there's no way in this show she's going to show any 'struggle' to losing weight. It'll be all played out so that it looks like she just went back to her old habits and all the weight dropped off easy peasy.

Good for you for getting through it. It's great that you've overcome and pushed yourself to be healthier. From the sounds of it, you've managed to do so fairly easily compared to many others.

Mental struggles are not always an excuse though. It can be for some, but it's not always laziness, and it's definitely not as simple as "would I rather eat pizza or exercise?" Lacking in willpower isn't the same as being lazy, it's lacking in willpower. Are smokers and d--g addicts lazy for not quitting and or not being able to stick to it? For many people, it's a real struggle. Nobody wants to be unhealthy.

Willpower = lack of laziness.

People who quit are quitters. That's about the size of it. My family are mostly overweight - drastically overweight, and I've had results from some of them before when they've been moaning about being fat - but then they just quit. "it's too hard" or "I don't have time" etc. It's actually a bit pathetic. Make time. Yes it's hard, too bad. I find it incredibly hard. I am predisposed to gaining weight very easily. I have regular anxiety attacks in the gym because I still suffer with body dysmorphia and can't handle large groups of people too well (unless I'm hammered). I have had THE hardest time losing and maintaining my weight - many fluctuations, but it gets to that point where if your jeans don't fit, you need to work a bit harder at the gym because you've clearly fallen off the wagon - don't buy new bigger jeans, that's stupid, it's like buying an emergency cake incase you fall off the wagon so you can eat it lol. I have arthritis, too, in my knees and back, which means exersize is no walk in the park for me. I have an under active or overactive thyroid (whichever makes you fat) which means I am extremely limited with my diet and have to be incredibly strict.

No it wasn't "fairly easy" for me. It was a ****ing massive struggle and will be a struggle for the rest of my life - but it's worth it. You know why? I'm not going to wake up in a hospital bed one day wishing I'd done something about my weight before a heart attack. I'm not going to be injecting insulin and wondering why I didn't avoid the donuts. I don't get out of breath walking up stairs - my knees still hurt but not because I'm carrying too much weight - I don't have to ask for seatbelt extenders on aeroplanes. That's why it's worth it. Plus, I look pretty good naked (aside from the few stretch marks :/ )

So, no. It isn't easy for anyone. But people who defend overly fat people (a bit of weight is fine, it's not an issue as long as health is ok) are adding to the problem. Nothing's making them sad except for their fat and results of being fat. It's something they can but won't do something about. I have less than zero sympathy.

Read my post :smh:

Some people are born with genes that make them much more likely to be overweight. No matter how much they work out or how much 'willpower' they have they will almost always have more body mass then the person next to it. These individuals are called mesomorphs. They are born with that body shape and can do very little to change it. I would like you to place yourself in their shoes and realise that lack of will power is simply only part of the issue. You need to stop labelling fat people as lazy and do your research. Quite frankly your lazy for not focusing, thinking critically and reading my previous post correctly.

It's nice that you accuse me of not reading your post correctly when you didn't actually read my post correctly - which lead you to think I didn't read yours correctly.

I am genetically predisposed to being overweight. I put on weight incredibly easily. It's damn near impossible for me to lose weight without an incredible level of strictness. I am one of those people.

And it's also an absolutel impossibility that these people cannot lose weight through diet and exercise. Are you saying if they starved themselves they'd magically put on weight? no.

Obviously starving yourself is not the wisest alternative and should be avoided at all costs. However in terms of healthy pathways to losing weight (such as exercise, but not excessive exercise) it is very difficult for these biologically disadvantaged people to loss noticeable amounts of weight. These people do try hard and are not lazy.

Disadvantaged? Yeah ok. Because you're poor, you have to eat crap. No.

Show me someone who's stuck to healthy eating and a good exercise routine for over a year and not lost a significant amount of weight and I'll show you a liar.

It's not my opinion, even, it's a fact.

As someone who was 'disadvantaged' and met with medical barrier after medical barrier during any and all attempts to reach a healthy stage, I'm definitely at a point in life where I can identify people that just don't try.

You know how these people decide exercise and diet don't work? Because they stop and say "that didn't work". You don't stop. It never stops. IF you want to get any result, it's a forever thing.

I'm not arguing at all, by the way, I just think you need to look at it more objectively and look at case studies. There's nothing to stop anyone that's physically capable, from losing weight. Genes or no genes, they just have to work harder but don't.
