Doing bad ? Coldplay open week was more than 1 million, same for Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran more than 550K, Lana almost 400K

she's just unknown

You are comparing WW sales to US sales...but Sia's would still be significantly lower.

The music industry is at an all time low.

7/26 Billboard charts:

The week's 4.1 million haul is the smallest weekly sum for album sales since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. Weekly album sales volume has been below 5 million for the past 12 consecutive weeks. The 5 million mark has only been surpassed in five weeks this year. To compare, a year ago at this point, there were 21 weeks where sales exceeded 5 million.

Weekly volume didn't fall below 5 million in the SoundScan era until 2010, when, in the week ending May 30, album sales dropped to 4.9 million.

Music industry, ha decay. I blame this on Hillary Duff tweeting out the wrong album name.

Slay though :applause:

Probably not, as overall sales have been declining for years now.

From the Nielsen Soundscan year-end 2013 music sales numbers:

2013 digital track sales fell 5.7% from 1.34 billion units to 1.26 billion.

Perhaps a larger problem is that the album, the cash cow of the industry (although less so than ever), has seen its sales decline for yet another year. Album sales for 2014 dipped to 289.4 million units, an 8.4% reduction from the prior year.

Worldwide numbers:

After a brief respite in 2012, music sales are once again on the decline. A new report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry shows that recorded music revenues slipped 3.9 percent last year (2013) to $15 billion globally.

Another yearly declineâ€â€the 13th in the last 14 yearsâ€â€is not the step the industry wants to take as it tries to claw its way back to the heyday of the ‘90s, when global industry revenue was close to $30 billion.

Just wait till Adele, Taylor and Eminem release their albums.

In a different week she might have debuted out of the top 10, she just got lucky.
