ultraviolent 0
i recently wrote this piece and it means alot to me, it flows in many different directions and can be taken in many ways. It uses poetry and war as one huge metaphor and sets the base of this fairly large poem. but it basically shines light on how disgusted and done i am with the world (not just america) but the world as a whole. It really means alot to me and i love sharing my work with people so tell me what you think. AMERIQA I’d pray that my words would echo In the minds of all the young poets To free the souls and emotions Of the kids too afraid to show it And even if just for a minute They can seek truths from within To pick up a pen and paper And write how they’re really feeling And even if just for a moment They can spark power within themselves To dream and endure their passions And not mold into somebody else My divine plan from the beginning Was to change the world from the start But who am I to imagine, I’d have an impact with my own art? And to whom that may find it shocking That I write about violence and rape -I’d just step in the shoes of my others, And conquer their minds so they can relate And even if just for a second They can dream up a world in their mind Where wars aren’t the prime of America And all violence is soon left behind I see humans that lack of humanity That speak loudest with bombs and guns But when men from both sides lay dying Tell me who really has won? I refuse to stand tall for the pledge Cuz allegiance is what we all lack We take pride in the wars that we fund And the blood that clogs pavement cracks I may not walk on the enemies soil Or bare a gun on their righteous homeland But if we are so scared of these ‘terrorists’ Imagine what they think of us man, Who bare the colors of our flag Take pride in the red white and blue With machine guns strapped their backs And trigger happy packs of troops I love this nation to an extent But the actions we take aren’t true, To humanity and and the lives of people Who in reality are no different than you Cuz every life taken out of divergence Is another family ripped apart Taken from homes and their children With no goodbyes when they finally depart Is it all really necessary? The violence that fuels the hate Can’t we just appreciate diversity And mind the business of our own state
