gagzus 13,646 Posted August 3, 2015 Share Posted August 3, 2015 Now, all of TF & TFM is pretty much generic but at the time it sure wasn't, I'd say her most generic song undoubtably is Gypsy because of the subject matter, lyrics and production it screams generic top 10 hit ala 2012 (too bad the album came out late - should've came out in summer 2012 tbh). At the time they wouldn't play it because many stations didn't think it was pop enough. It was only after success in other world wide markets and the release of dance music from BEP that they started spinning it.It's got a pretty simple structure and has pretty shallow lyrics, but it was her first single and she followed it up with Poker Face that's pretty strange and lyrically complex for a pop song.
