How would you want Gaga to approach an Unplugged performance?

One thing I want more than anything is an MTV: Unplugged performance from her. For many artists Unplugged performances, and potential albums, have led to critical acclaim, iconic performances, grammy awards, commercial success and has even saved careers. Notable performers include Nirvana, Lauryn Hill, Eric Clapton, Paul Mccartney, Hole, Kiss and many others. Miley Cyrus also recently did an Unplugged gig to promote Bangerz.

Some artists choose to release an unplugged album , others don't.

I think that an Unplugged performance by Gaga before she releases her next album would be fantastic for her especially since, although working with RedOne, she seems to be straying more from edited vocals and hard electronic sounds.

The question is how do you want Gaga to approach an Unplugged session?

There are many ways Gaga could approach it, including, but not limited to:

Piano performances focusing on her piano skills and/or vocal ability.

Performances like this with her playing the piano haven't really been showcased so much, this is how I originally envisioned an Unplugged performance. With performances similar to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9wrr2MWI-k and some ballads (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7HvURBhMGE) thrown in. Just her and her piano, very intimate.

She could decide to perform with a band and adapt her songs in a rock direction, which is arguably easy to do with many of her songs. Since it is an Unplugged session it is highly doubtful there would be any electric guitars though, only acoustic.

Another way she could approach it, and how I hope she does, is an intimate gig with performances like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zl_kygKrFw. She could perform a jazz interpretation of her songs like the previous example with her small band while also adding standards (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-md7r4jbgc) and potentially previously unheard songs like Paradise. It's a fun new interpretation of some of her older songs with a nod to her past and present while creating an atmosphere where it feels like you are watching Gaga perform at a bar.

What would you like from a Gaga MTV Unplugged performance?

Enchanting setting, a killer voice & acoustic guitars make the perfect blend for a brilliant Unplugged performance at least in my opinion. Hole, Nirvana & Alice In Chains' unplugged sessions are absolutely some of my favourite live albums but even if Gaga doesn't recreate the same vibe I'm sure it will be iconic for me!

I would have her show off her piano skills in the first part with a bit of a rehearsed solo (like when she did maple leaf rag but longer).

Then a bunch of her songs on piano that don't usually get that treatment.

I think she should do an unplugged album after her next album. She'll have more songs to pick from to perform, and since C2C we've had a lot of more acoustic-type performances.

Regarding how she should perform, I think she should do a variety. She's certainly skilled at all the options you've given, and she's given performances in each way. An unplugged album that shows her diversity in talent would be exceptional.
