it wouldn't have made ANY sense. the whole point of the song is making use of a METAPHOR. 

 

Judas is a METAPHOR. 

 

Lucas (or some other name) does not have the metaphoric meaning of someone who betrays you. 

 

The name Judas carries a meaning... someone who betrays you, stabs you in the back (figuratively) 

 

The whole point of the song is that she's in love with someone who has betrayed her and stabbed her in the back.

Even worse.

The problem with this song is that it sounds quite uninspired and underwhelming sonically, keeping in mind Bad Romance which is based on same formula.

So the lyrics are not the case for the low chart performance, the religious references at least scored some headlines.
