While the iTunes Music Store was officially launched in 2003, it was only in 2005 when the digital era of music was finally evident around the world: it's the year when iTunes hit 500 million overall downloaded songs, iTunes opened more stores in Europe, also launched in Japan and Australia, and the video-sharing website YouTube was born, a medium now used by billions to stream and share music. The rapid rise of digital music in 2005 eventually led for individual tracks (singles) to replace albums as the industry's biggest seller, making it rare for albums to move as much as the ones released pre-2003 (early 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, and so on).

Be that as it may, here are the following albums which still managed to have reported worldwide (WW) sales of at least 7 million since late 2004, in chronological order:

Notes: The sales numbers listed above are supplied by the labels mostly through press releases. Currently, the sole officially recognized source of global music sales, the IFPI, does not release sales info of albums beyond their release and/or peak years. Hence, most, if not all, of these numbers are not their current and entirely up-to-date worldwide figures. They're simply the latest highest WW numbers reported.

If ever you find a more recent reported WW sales of any of the albums mentioned above or if you've found an album which wasn't included here, yet they were released in late 2004-present and have WW reported sales of at least 7 million, feel free to post them here alongside a link of a source.
