The o2-25th Oct. WTF was up with the audience?

Morning all! So I am writing this fresh from the artRAVE. I sound like I smoked 40 cigarettes last night. My legs, feet, and my whole my body ache. We raved last night. We went hard, and I can't express how amazing it felt. To hear ARTPOP live, and just feel so connected to Gaga was truly amazing.

That's how we left... feeling connected to her even more.

The visuals, the lighting, the music... Everything. What a show.

But now to the audience. I was embarrassed to be seated by most of the people around me. They SAT DOWN. For most of the show. As the first song, ARTPOP, finished... Gaga could tell. She screamed 'Why are you sitting down? Get uuupp!!'

That wasn't the first time.. She said that numerous times, also saying 'Come on London... Don't be shy'. It just felt so weird. I never got 'the vibe' from TBTWB as the venue was too big to feel connected. Something was missing. But at TMB it was like hardcore monsters were everywhere. We stood in the pit the first time and the 2nd time was saw TMB we had seats, but not a single person was seated. It was like one huge club. I thought the artRAVE would be the same... But it really wasn't. We did not get it! We raved hard ourselves. Jumping up and down, absolutely losing ourselves.. But then the people around us were sat. It was so bizarre. We weren't seated up high either, we were really close to the floor/stage.

I reckon by the end of the evening most people were standing... I don't know. We were so lost in the show we gave up looking after a while. My point is... Gaga knew. And i almost just wanted her to see the ones standing going ****ing crazy, do you know what I mean? There were moment when's you're supposed to cheer right? Like when she said 'Ever since my first album... The Fame..' There was silence.. She gave us a ****ing pause to scream for that album... And no one did (it seemed). It just felt like a really weird audience last night.

Why go to a show with rave in the title? And knowing Gagas show style... To sit, not scream, not cheer...

I don't know. I could be totally misguided. But it upset me a bit for Gaga. I'd just be so sad for her to feel like London didn't give her that same vibe as it did at TMB when she was last at the O2.

Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble on... I am literally suffering from an artRAVE hangover in my Applause t-shirt sipping coffee.

All in all, a magical night, it felt religious. She slayed for sure.. There were of course things that were a bit funny like the old hits being really short and sometimes the music sounded a little quiet/bare compared to the record. But none of that mattered. It was Gaga at her very best... Talking, singing, dancing for us. A night I'll remember forever...

And **** me... BR and Applause... We all went NUTS!!! Gaga, if you ever read this... Not everyone was sitting down... We were there going hare than ever, for you! X

Because a lot of people who buy seated tickets just want to sit and enjoy the show rather than jump around, or they would have bought standing tickets. Not gonna lie if i bought seated tickets (i probs wouldnt though cause i wanna dance at concerts) and someone was in front of me jumping and going crazy id probably be annoyed.

I was seated but on the 23rd and I stayed seated when she told us to stand up as I was at the  front of the seated block and did not want to stand and annoy the fans behind, It annoys me when people stand. On the other block the people at the front stood up so the rest of them did so i understand some did and some didn't, as for cheering, we all cheered for Bad romance her hit single! and Clapped during applause we did not stand up and cheer because we didn't want to disrespect or interrupt her but just listen to what she is saying and is singing. I think it depends on yourself.

Everyone in my block was standing on the 23rd, you didn't have a choice to sit down otherwise you could barely see

Maybe different people enjoy music in a different way...?

They don't want to dance but rather just absorb and take it in?

Nothing wrong with that, Gaga still got dem coins :classy:

people who want to stand should buy standing tickets. people who want to sit should buy seated tickets. then there's no issue. is that crazy?

I understand what you're talking about...it was the same at my artRAVE. Me and three other people in my section (right at the front stage) were standing the whole time and dancing along, but all the others sat down again after the first two songs.

I felt like the people behind me wanted to kill me for dancing the whole time :rip:

But it was a different audience, at the BTW Ball everyone around me danced with me, mostly people my age or younger. Now there were a lot of people around 40 years old, like Gaga gained new fans, but I understand that they're not really that fit anymore often to jump and scream around like crazy.

For me, somethng was missing too at the artRAVE and I think it's the songs. It was so easy to wave your hands to Paparazzi or Alejandro, but the new songs...no. I love Venus,Aura,GUY etc. but I immediately recognized that the beat of the ARTPOP songs is not good for normal dancing and waving  your hands, you can only jump to it :emma:

I'm glad you had fun nonetheless :)

Same happened at my show except I had standing tickets. I stood close to the main stage and only me and a friend were really dancing and jumping and screaming. Whenever we would start dancing or cheering people next to us would look at us and laugh.
