Lobster Boy 1
I really like 'darker' films but not necessarily horror, but here's a description of what I mean Gothic films are usually set in a castle, an old mansion, or an isolated village. The feeling is dark and moody with graveyard scenes or mist rolling in. A feeling of isolation and despair. The stories are usually based on some sort of ancient folklore or mythology. Usually there is a damsel in distress and a hero to rescue her. Almost like an adult dark fairy tale. Tales of tragedy and loss, mystery and horror, and sometimes even science gone wrong. So stuff like Sweeney Todd, Pan's Labryninth, possibly Maleficent. Also tryin to find some Victorian style ones, like 'From Hell' about Jack The Ripper

Andy McQueen 4,484
Nosferatu. The original black-white "Nosferatu" is amazing. I also like the remake with Klaus Kinski and the movie "Shadow of the Vampire", which is a horror film based on the making of the original film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosferatu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosferatu_the_Vampyre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_of_the_Vampire I think Max Schreck, Klaus Kinski and William Dafoe are all magnificant actors and very interesting the see in the character. AyaKara 2,272
Le Portrait de Petit Cosette describes exactly what you want. It's bone-chillingly good and the music is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard (my favorite composer!) in my life. It's 1 hour and 30 minutes. There are trailers on YouTube but they're too spoilerific for your own good. It's about a man whom finds a portrait of a young woman in his art gallery and finds himself becoming obsessed with bringing her to life. It's really trippy and it's pretty deep. Rather than a trailer, I will leave a song here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i25ZPiIIJAI
