Not but really? Why do you say that? It's only an excuse :P

How can you pretend that political voting doesn't exist? Countries always giving 12 points to their neighbouring countries, the eastern block voting for Mother Russia, countries such as Azerbaijan actually arresting people for voting for Armenia. The list is endless really. Of course there are exceptions such as Germany winning in 2010, but it's largely political and that's a fact.

That's why we have a jury, don't we?

Of course nothing will ever be perfect, that's true. Some people will always cheat and go against the rules.

Greece has always given twelve points to Cyprus, Turkey to Azerbaijan etc.

But thankfully that's not the majority of the countries in the competition.

Last year is a great example!

Denmark won. So how did the Scandinavian countries vote?

Sweden: 10p

Finland: 7p

Norway: 7p

It was fair, wasn't it? It won, but it did not receive the highest scores.

Sweden gave 12 points to Norway in 2013, Cyprus in 2012, Ireland in 2011, Germany in 2010

Sweden has given most points to Ireland in ESC for example.

Wait, didn't UK give one point to Ireland last year? Is that what you call political voting?

Like I said earlier, yes, it exist. But it doesn't affect the result in the end. It did 2008, and that was the reason they decided to have juries in the competition.

My bet is that UK probably will win or end top 3.

So good luck, and don't try to be negative! I understand your point, but I believe you are wrong.

its always the country with points from the most countries that wins so its always fair.

UK scored so low the last couple of years simply because their entries have been bad! :laughga:

i cant blame you for thinking its all political tho because terry wogan has brainwashed the entire nation :teehee:

Yay 2nd semi is complete now. I think that Greece, Romania, Ireland, Israel, Norway and Lithuania are 100% qualifiers. Not only because of the songs but also politics. Who do you think will fail to qualify?

I think definetely FYROM and Slovenia since they have no bloc voters in store anymore and Austria, because Europe just won't buy it .Song sounds american - look at Poland 2008 - that's howEurope treats such songs. Also he is too freaky, of course Dana won in 1999, but back then countries like  Belarus or Georgia were not included, so the proportion of Western European open-minded voters was bigger.

For some reason Eurovision isn't uploading the Russian entry but until that happens you can read parts of the lyrics and try to imagine what the song will sound like :)

"Shine"

Verse 1

Been looking at the sky
wishing on a star
waiting for a brand new start

Living on the edge
closer to the crime
cross the line a step at a time

Now maybe there's a place
maybe there's a time
maybe there's a day you'll be mine

Now something's got to give
make a brighter day
all we got to say

Chorus

Shine into my darkness
shine into the night, my rising sun
drive away the madness
Can you be a masterpiece of love
Sending out a message out above
Telling all the world to show some love
No one's gone bring me down, bring me down
You are my rising sun

Verse 2

Keep looking up ahead
riding like a wind
open up your heart, let me in

My life is on a string
when I see you smile
our love will last a thousand miles

Now maybe there's a place
maybe there's a time
maybe there's a day you'll be mine

Now something's got to give
make a brighter day

all we got to say
