This is what they wrote: This is a friendly reminder that your gal pal Stefani Germanottaâ€â€known to some as “Lady Gaga“â€â€turns 27 tomorrow (March 28). As far as almost-27-year-olds go, Lady Gaga is pretty impressive. You know the story, but for those readers who landed on our fine planet yesterday, she went to NYU, left NYU, signed with Interscope, released The Fame (“Just Dance,†“Poker Faceâ€), then The Fame Monster EP (includes “Telephone,†“Bad Romance“), then Born This Way (“Born This Way,†“You and I“), leaving her with a grand total of 5 Grammys and 13 VMAs. She also managed to find the time to become a huge LGBT activist and youth empowerment advocate. New-to-earth folks, we all clear? Comparatively speaking, 26 was a quiet year for the Mother Monster. Starting in late April of 2012, Gaga began touring the world with her Born This Way Ball tour. Aside from the occasional upchuck, NSFW cake dance, and hilarious legal dispute, we didn’t hear much from good ole Stef. But we’re not worried. Historical elephant in the room: A lot of rock stars have a rough 27th year. We predict Gaga will have the opposite of a rough year. (Knock on wood.) 1. Comebacks Are All The Rage: As we’ve recently seen in Justin Timberlake, it’s possible to go off the radar and consequently sell almost a million albums in a week. 2. New Album: We expect Gaga’s release of ARTPOP later this year to provide further proof of the theory above. She’s been working on the album with the likes of RedOne, Zedd, Madeon, and DJ White Shadow since early 2012. “Insane, great record,†predicts the Lady herself. 3. The Competition is Not Stiff: Taylor Swift owned 2012 and needs to take a break and get dumped by more boys. Adele won’t make her comeback until at least 2014 when her son can eat solid foods. Katy Perry is “healing.†And Rihanna’s trajectory is a constant (naked) sine wave that doesn’t seem to affect the path of others. 4. She’s Making Her Big Screen Debut: Gaga is part of the all-star ensemble cast of Robert Rodriguez’ upcoming action movie Machete Kills which will hit theaters in September. Her character is called “La Chameleón.†Enough said. 5. Documentary On Its Way: Infamous photographer and Gaga’s BFF Terry Richardson has been following her around with the end goal of a feature-length documentary. Terry Richardson is really, really excellent at inspiring controversy. Gaga isn’t half bad at it herself. Yeah, we’ll watch. 6. The Monsters Continue to Multiply: 35.5 million followers and counting. 7.
