To put things into perspective I looked up on RIAA.com (the company that officially certifies albums and songs in the United States) to see how many albums performed on par with Joanne (1 million+ album units) and also surpassed it. This is only for albums released during Joanne's release (Q4 2016) to present.  It appears only 16 other albums released since October 1, 2016 are on par with Joanne's certification of 1 million+ units.
