I'm happy for Dual Lips! jk she's cool but I'm not that crazy about her songs. Be The One is still the only song of hers I like.

does this mean we're old now? :selena:

Most likely. We are old party poopers now. Or at least I am.

For real though, I’ve liked old people music my whole life. I grew up on 70s music. My mom used to drive around playing icons and ask my siblings and I to analyze the lyrics (:laughga:). We used to have a blast. My childhood was rampant with poetry and the art of writing (my mother is a poet and a writer)...so for me, lyricism is always key. I have to feel the words even before the music and I just haven’t been feeling anything that is currently being released. That doesn’t make me or people like me better, just different. A lot of people respond to the music/musicality first and the lyrics later. Its just a matter of taste.

Isn’t this the truth. Though I take myself out of this narrative considering that I have effectively not liked anything in pop music for a very long time. I’m not exclusive when it comes to success or failure.

I do appreciate this forum though. It makes me venture into a genre that I would normally ignore. Maybe I will find some songs or an artist or an album that I like in the future.

A few months ago she used to be New Gay Jesus but as soon as she started to have some major success suddenly everyone here turned on her. Can't we just be happy that her song did well and not tear apart her talent and abilities?

And I can't believe some people have the audacity to compare her to Bebe Rexha. Bebe literally sounds like a goat stuck in a lawn mower :triggered:

No one is loyal to anyone or anything these days

and you’re 100% right about Bebe

Absolutely love her album and she deserves the success. It's just a shame she really doesn't have stage presence and she doesn't have an interesting personality :cryga:

maybe we can see the world together

My knowledge of this song is limited to the annoying YouTube ads that used to play it.

I watched some live performances of her singing though, and I wasn’t impressed at all.
