2.... had a higher peak than The Cure on Billboard Hot 100?

I know that peaks are not the most important thing to determine if a song it's a hit or not (Dope, which is a smash top-10 hit, disagrees but whatever) but let's be honest are the thing we take the most into account when comparing two songs, since most of us (but clearly not @DiscoHeaven23 who enlightens us with the best chart threads) don't have the time or simple aren't willing to follow a song full's chart history. This time it's obvious that The Cure had a much better chart run.

Anyway here we have the stats:

Lady Gaga - The Cure - Peak position: #39 - Weeks in Chart: 14

Lady Gaga - Venus - Peak position: #32 - Weeks in Chart: 1

Spoiler

Checking the stats on Billboard's website I also discovered that Speechless outpeaked TIHTY

Spoiler

Speechless - peak 94 - 1 week

Spoiler

TIHTY - peak 95 - 1 week

It was #1 WW(Mediatraffic :triggered:) tho, and in the UK if that makes us feel any better.

No shade to Kesha or Alicia but we all know which of the three songs has made history.

It was just super unlucky. Poker Face could have been the same, but it was just lucky: 2 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2.

Born This Way, on the other hand, did that.

Amazing stats.

Who cares that BR didn't reach #1 in US when it literally made history? Records broke, grammys + other awards. Other people with #1s wishes to have that impact

That's not true because Havana went number one and therefore can't be the longest #2 to not hit #1

Same happened with sorry.
