I have a question for Katy fans, is she like acting a bit goofy or stuff to mock society and pop culture for the Witness conscious pop era or that’s the real her? I feel like sometimes she acts forced idk. Nothing against her btw, I’m just curious

Katy is light hearted. She's always been. Even when she's been struggling so much with the Witness era she is just a big ****ing goof at the end of the day. You can see that with American idol. I think most of it's a charade, she masks her pain with humor. And we know she's deeply in pain underneath it all. But I think her best work is when she touches that sad dark place... Rise and Unconditional and both good songs to me, and both arent necessarily dark but melancholy and somber... She should explore darkness tbh.

As for Miley. One might argue her "can't be tamed" era, aka her " can't be Gaga but I'll try" era, was dark... But nah that was too artificial at the end of the day. And her new album suggests she wants to go in a lighter direction.

Katy was teasing at Prism being a darker era....only to get TD 2.0
