The type of R&B Xtina had been doing in the past is stylistically closer to soul/gospel/swing and old-school hip hop, not the kind of R&B that's current right now. After Dangerous Woman there definitely was an influx of female vocalists going down the "PBR&B, slow jam sex-kitten" way, like Demi with her last album and now appearently Christina.
