These were the top female artists each year, based on Billboard's year end top artist chart. It's based on singles and album, with touring added in recent years to the equation. Some years i could not find (1978, 1989, 1990 and 1992). Those years will be in black

No  Celine Dion in 1996??

Alanis had the best selling albums of the '90s. It was impossible for Celine to compete

I'll take 1979, 1980, 1995 & 1996, with a side of the early 00's and side of Adele/Gaga years, please. :queenga:

(They're all iconic...just my hopeless romanticized music dreams).

90's was such a diversive time between music in US and Europe. In Europe Celine was huge in 1996/1997. I only learned about Alanis when I got into high school. I think sales figure is almost the same worldwide between Jagged Little Pill & Falling Into You tho. :oprah:

What are your receipts? Is there any site you can see the list on?

I can link u to every billboards year end magazine. But give me a lil bit to do that. You’ll have to scroll through the pages to find it. It’s an electronic copy. Years 2006 to 2017 are on billboards site though
