It’s for a separate entire tribute special to Elton’s John arranged by The Grammys, airing later this year. The full thing is being recorded on Tuesday (I’m going as a seat filler), but Gaga is recording her performance a day early, probably because of the touring schedule. There was a video intro about the writing of “Your Song”, then Gaga gave a beautiful short speech about her relationship with Elton, and then did a beautiful version of the song. She was wearing all white, with a couple small fluffy wings, and some bedazzled Elton-John-ish big glasses that she put on after the speech but before the song. She went through the song three and a quarter times (she messed up the original third take with a funny bit of cursing when she realized she messed up because her mic pack fell off and distracted her).
