WHHHHATTT!

it didn't flopp

She was bound to have no commercial success cuz she was about at the point of no return time wise

And then she came out with a #1 album that has sold on par, if not more than the majority of pop girls

And then she had Praying, which had great longevity and stability. It ended up being a bigger hit in the US than "Chained to the Rhythm", according to Billboard's year end chart.

Praying (2017)
1st Week: #25
2nd Week: #40
3rd Week: #38
4th Week: #32
5th Week: #24
6th Week: #22 – PEAK POSITION
7th Week: #28
8th Week: #27
9th Week: #26
10th Week: #25
11th Week: #28
12th Week: #24
13th Week: #26
14th Week: #28
15th Week: #28
16th Week: #29
17th Week: #31
18th Week: #28
19th Week: #28
20th Week: #26
21st Week: #35
(knocked out)

The song reached #9 on Pop Radio

and #6 on Adult Pop Radio

And now she's starting the promotion of her second US single.

Girl did not flop.

Born To Slay

Because the follo who singles bombed, it was poorly promoted and it was released before what happened to her.

Die Young’s pull killed the momentum, and Cmon was a pretty horrible basic choice as a second single.

They probably should have pushed either Supernatural, Last Goodbye, or even Thinking of You as the second single.

Thinking of You >>>>>>>>

That song is so good

Die Young WAS a smash hit. And did great on the charts. However the problem was the longevity of the single (shooting incident).

C'mon did poorly

⇒ when the album got out, it was a non-event

I think we can compare that to Malibu (Die Young) doing great then the hype fading away at the time Younger Now (Warrior) got out.

However I think that Crazy Kids (wil.i.am version) was a cute hit in the US !

"C'mon" and "Supernatural" were pretty cool, but other than that, why should the album have done well?

It wasn't what it was supposed to be. Bottom line. Luke didn't like the direction she wanted to take the album and thus everything that actually made the cut was either a watered down version of what she actually wanted (Dirty Love, Past Lives, Thinking of You, etc) or it was filler that he made her put on the record which she sang half-heartedly (C'Mon, Wherever You Are, Crazy Kids, etc). So when it came to promoting it she went hard with Die Young, but then she wanted to release a ballad as the second single but they refused. So they made her release C'Mon which she had no passion for and so the video and her performances are wack because she didn't care and same goes for Crazy Kids. For anyone following her that era you could just tell how unhappy she was with the album and the era. She was not down for it, which was in stark contrast to the immense passion she had for Animal+Cannibal and its whole aesthetic and everything. You could tell she really felt it then, but she wasn't feeling Warrior at all. And quite honestly that is what affected the eras potential for success. On top of the fact that people were ready to hear something new from her that the label was not going to permit.

Warrior is a really bad album. Its half diluted attempts at doing a sort of psychadelic pop/alt thing and half off the shelf canned luke pop that were probably Katy Perry rejects ---- Wherever You Are being the most obvious.
