Taylor literally owns her label. She doesn't "have too" release one and I highly doubt that she will. If she does, it will completely ignore the first half of her career.

Anyways, if she did release a Greatest Hits I would hope she would release a B-sides along with it with things like Treacherous, Fifteen, Speak Now, Holy Ground, Welcome to New York, Dear John, All You Had To Do Was Stay, Hey Stephen, State of Grace, Sparks Fly and Begin Again.

Basically release every Taylor Swift song worth listening to.

But she won't release a greatest hits album because she wants people to forget that she used to do "country." Which is so sad because her "country" songs were so great.

New Year's Day. It sounds very, very inspired by "old Taylor". And I think it's incredibly meaningful that she chose this song to close her album, the conclusion, the "lesson" you take. As if, at the end of the day, she's holding on to her country side. It's still herself after the party.

Old taylor doesn’t mean country taylor though.

She herself has stated she wants to be pure pop and that’s what she has done.
