This topic is purely hypothetical. Anyways, I read in one of the countless rumor threads that Gaga plans on developing an album with a modern funk sound. As soon as I read that, my mind harkened back to this wonderful music by Charlotte Gainsbourg. Her music recent album, ‘Rest,’ is smart, sleek, and funky - everything from the ideal new Gaga album. If you’ll listen, her music is intrinsically funk in nature, from the bass licks to the layered orchestral tracks. However, her sound is also updated, with elements of synthpop incorporated into the songs to give them extra oomph. The sound isn’t sparse, but it certainly can’t be considered over-produced.
