I think it is a cute thing to say, all things considered, and yes Madonna tried to take advantage to the BTW Affair, to make the buzz (I remind you she performed the mush Up "Express Yourself/BTW/She's not me" during her tour...)

nothing wrong with it, but she did it, hoping that it would have rebooted her career once again... nothing better than a feud to make people talk: Beatles vs Rolling Stones, and so on... But she did not considered how a thing like that could have been out of control in the Social network era. I'm sure she never meant to be a 100% Beesh, but the thing exploded in a way she did not predict. 

anyway, @Gaga: technically, Madonna is italian too.
