I woke up at 5:30 Frantically rushing around my Haus, I got my wig glue ready and 3 backup wigs for on-the-go! We got to our hotel around 8 o'clock (oh my god St. Paul traffic is horrid ) and my Diamond Heart™ was already beating so fast! I was already having difficulty walking and I wanted nothing more than to get to the arena RIGHT NOW! Our hotel shuttle guy drove my mom and I to Xcel, and ohhh my god it was h a p p e n i n g! I was SHAKING! There was a cluster of CTM people outside. Taylor escorted me inside after I told him this was my first concert! So I get inside, and there are literally like 8 people there! I couldn't believe I was so early! I ARTplopped to the ground and yadayadayada... "omg monsters! HI hello WIG OFF" etc... We early GAsters know it's called the GAY line Fast forward a couple hours later, more people slowly started showing up, not super packed yet. Around 1, the eclipse was nearing its maximum here. No glasses for me but some people shared around. (So cool btw!) Ok so around 4-5, they started SOUND TESTING A majority of it was just some guy going buzzzzzwwwweeeeeesssskkhaaaaa but it still was hyping us up nonetheless! Oh bitch then came Diamond Heart, Alejandro, UNHhhh the gays were shrieking! Lace fronts tearing! So now we're nearing 6:00. The lights are on, things are being tested, lobby is getting packed, and for some reason, like 1,000 people were just zipping by us on the left inside. Seriously, does anyone know what all that was for?! I knew there were employees but a lot of them just looked like normal people? Anyway... There was a perfect illusion somewhere in all the confusion about when exactly we would be going in. About 6:30! CTM had mostly gone through. There were a LOT more than I realized there would be. 250 is a lot in person!!! Did I mention I still had no idea where I wanted to stand? Okay, some idea... but it was still going to become a decision made in the moment! Alright hunties... this is it. THE GATES HAVE OPENED. We all scampered through omfg it was chaotic. Orderly... but chaotic. I walk through thingy and grab my other thingies. Time for my card. The most NERVE-RACKING part of the whole day. It DID. NOT. WORK... the first two times. My h e a r t, bitch? 404 not found... I wander through this... inner lobby. Shooketh. No idea what I'm doing or where I'm going. My friends have scattered like roaches. No time for merch! I quickly took a picture of her on the screens... now it's time. This senior woman guards the gates to heaven. There's nobody going in! They must be getting merch idk but no one is around now! I am confusion. She allows me in... oh my god. There it is. The beautiful, elegant, gargantuan stage. I almost FALL down these stairs, bitch. I can't stop looking at it. Whoops, almost fall again. Okay, time to pay attention before I'm sent out of here on a stretcher hours before she starts. Again, lack of people, I'm still a bit early. Does this guy need to check my ticket? My wristband? No... okay?! LET'S GO!!! I take my first steps onto... THE GA FLOOOOOOR!!!!!! Oh my god, oh my god, oh m... there is an o p e n i n g. B-I-T-C-H! Guess who got FRONT ROW!!!!!! There I stand! Right side of the stage! Coincidentally in one of my three preferred front stage spots! (One in the center, two on each side with visibility down the bridges (like lined up with the circles and/or rear stage you know))... ANYWAY. I literally cannot believe this. I am BARRICADE at my FIRST CONCERT! In just over two hours, I will see GAGA at the BARRICADE!!! Ok I should stop bragging, but biiitch! Wig #1 is OFF. Veteran monsters stand beside me, for I am the only concert virgin in the vicinity. Through all the long hours of this day, time is kicking into overdrive now. The two hours zoom by as I stare in awe at her name all around and fans filling the arena. Did anybody else see Telephone girl? She was cool. Also there was this little girl with giant earmuffs on. Anyway, the arena is filling, hype is building, and heart rate is rising! Approximately 8:50 PM... the countdown begins. PANIC ensues! I fumble around in excitement and rush to my earplugs. Pop them in, secure my items, and prepare to lose wig #2. I had looked around at the marvelous arena throughout the wait. AAAHH!!! I AM LITERALLY ABOUT TO SEE LADY GAGA?! 00:59:22... SCREAMING!!! 00:36:11... FXHKFXHKC!!!!! 00:21:16... OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG AAAAAAHHH!!!!!! Don’t call me Gaga... Don’t call me Gaga...... 00:00:00...“Call me Joanne!” She's slowly revealed, inch by inch, and I burst into tears. Literally no warning of them, just starting crying. After all this time I’m finally seeing her with my own eyes. She is so beautiful! My idol. My queen. Mother monster! I reach out as if I could actually reach her! She is PERFECTION!!! So I intentionally planned not to use my phone at all during the concert. I thought maybe I would record some things later, but I never did and I’m glad I didn’t. A downside of being on a side in front row is that the cameraman blocks your view sometimes but it wasn’t a lot. And let me tell you something, shooting star wishes come true. A couple weeks before the show, I saw one and wished that Gaga would make eye contact with me. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! I don’t even remember exactly when some of them happened, but she looked at me a couple times. I know she looked at me during Perfect Illusion, Angel Down, Bad Romance, and again during Million Reasons. It’s a magical moment. Can’t even describe it! So here I am, bopping around. I actually forgot parts of the setlist and didn’t know Perfect Illusion came after Poker Face! Wig #2 OFF! I N T E R L U D E S, BIIITCH!!! As the show went on, my favorite was soon. BORN THIS WAY!!! I just started jumping all over when it started, I went crazy! I did as much choreo as I could whilst packed together. I think this ~4 minute experience marks the best moment of my life. Oh bitch then she comes through with the next interlude, they affect all 5 senses, you know. I still can’t believe we get 4 BTW songs! Paparazzi to Angel Down transition is SO loud and deep you can feel it in your guts so much it was cool. A little while later, it’s time for the last song. Now when Gaga said she wants to get one last look at me, she meant it! She was walking across the first bridge and it was by far the longest, deepest eye contact she made with me the whole show. I already wanted to cry because it was the last song, how many tears does she think my body can produce? I held them back though, I couldn’t risk clouding my vision! She reached the end stage and those piano lights are sooo pretty. I did a good job keeping the tears away during this last song, but not by the ending. “Why don’t you... stay... stay...” YES WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME?! “Goodnight, St. Paul.” CRYING OKAY CRYING NOW TEARS EVERYWHERE. Her hat lay on the piano, the lights dim. A few moments later I hear the cheers from her running out of the arena. Then... that’s it. It’s over. Just had the best time of my whole life but now I’m incredibly SAD, and it appears to be a shared emotion! GAGA WITHDRAWAL! The crew didn’t waste one second packing up the stage. Kinda disappointed to see all the cups and trash just strewn on the floor, but I was so dehydrated myself I had to leave out my gate for a water fountain! I ran to the nearest one and headed out for my shuttle and- I completely forgot about merch. The doors lock from inside, now I could just catch the door from someone leaving, but I didn’t wanna miss my shuttle (couldn’t get on it for over half an hour but oh well) meanwhile I was still in an advanced episode of Gaga separation, I just stayed out there and didn’t get any. .-. At least it’ll be online later... I still won’t get a cool bag tho :I Anyway, I finally got on the shuttle and took one last picture of Xcel for the night. I was SO drained and exhausted I barely had enough energy to wolf down a chocolate bar when I got back to the room. Morning came early, had breakfast and made it back to the Haus around noon or something idk. Ran into a monster at Perkins! (And again at another restaurant the next day!) When I got home, I salvaged my wristband and reflected on OMG THAT WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIIIFE!!! WOW this took so long to write. (omg this post is so long sry ) So... anyone else’s experience anything like mine? Have you gone yet? It was absolutely amazing! I was standing in the GA line right inside of the doorway entrance thing. I was up close to the stage as well! And yes the telephone girl with the amazing outfit sitting up in the seats! Did you see that big tall guy walking down the stairs with huge platforms on and a shiny cardboard like outfit? It was an amazing night. She made eye contact with me during The Cure. Edit: also the girl with the full Applause makeup and the guy with the floral G.U.Y. outfit? I just had a white Joanne Gaga outline Urban Outfitters tee on lol I couldn't decide what to wear Edit #2: yes the lights came on at the end and I was shocked how fast they started taking the stage apart right away like she had just left the stage and they were taking it down.
