Gaga really did perform well this year. When you look at it, female pop stars are not really trendy and considering Joanne is no where near mainstream sound, she did amazing. The only other pop stars who can still manage to be on top are Beyoncé, Adele and Rihanna. Even then, only rihanna had a hit single recently, the other ones are only album sellers. 

1. All of Adele singles from 25 charted in the top 40 and had significant radio play.

2. 25 has out sold minutemaid and Auntie combined x10. 

3. Adele is in her own lane.

Why does it always have to be a competition? I'm proud of Gaga for proving the GP wrong after they declared her career dead and I'm enjoying watching Katy get a reality check that her canned pop music doesn't always win the charts.
