The tour is divided into three acts, each corresponding to one journey. 
Act I is the "dance" act. It's about rebellion, empowerment and sex.

Act I. is taking place in the desert, first at day, then at night. She lands onstage in an enlightened heart-shaped hanging box (through which she can be seen) singing Diamond Heart. As she lands, she sings A-YO and Just Dance. In the Telephone interlude, she arrives at night in a burning modern cowboy city and she takes part in the chaos going on. Poker Face and John Wayne visuals have more 'violent' visuals whereas Dancin in Circles and Alejandro are more sexual. 

She takes a break, changes outfit and delivers a moving speech about her journey so far since Just Dance, pointing out how her fans always supported her. She sings Applause and Do What U Want in the undergrounds of New York City. She then sits on the catwalk and starts singing Paparazzi acapella with her fans. 

Act II is the act about redemption God, friends and family.

Act II. starts with Sinner's Prayer as an interlude. She leaves the shadow of the city and enters a church where she confesses her sins. She then leaves and enters Central Park where she starts singing Come to Mama around people, and continues with Born This Way (Country Road Version) and either Hey Girl or Just Another Day. Then she delivers a speech about Joanne album night falls, and she returns to the church to sing about all the angels down. This last part is a very moving moment as she sings Joanne, an acoustic medley of Grigio Girls and The Edge of Glory as a tribute to Sonja, and Angel Down. 

Act III is the (last) act about love and all the different phases in it.

The first interlude plays an acoustic, lighter, more laid back version of Venus. It tells the chaotic love between Gaga and her lover: how they met, kissed, had sex and how she caught him cheating on her. In the end of the 3-min film, she starts singing Bad Romance on stage in a very posh dance hall. In the end of the song, the room becomes a disco and she covers for one minute I Want Your Love. Again, the vibes change and turn into rock. Gaga is freaking out, (pretends to) tear(s) her dress apart, and starts singing Perfect Illusion. She delivers a very energetic and exhausting performance. She sings an acapella version of Marry the Night while she's leaving the main stage for the piano stage where she sings Million Reasons. In the middle of the song, the song turns into the Andrelli Remix and fans sing along. She leaves for a few minutes and returns with the final song: The Cure.
