Sometimes I wonder if she did that to overshadow the fact that she was selling a perfume. An artistic piece, with a performance aspect (opening at the Guggenheim), about commercialism, while promoting something purely for capitalistic/brand gain. Because it was after that when she started seeing Mark Ronson more frequently, and started speaking about how she was making music to stand the test of time/music that if she died would show who she really is/is about the messages she wants to be known. His death, and the way the world remembered him after he passed, must have really made her think about what she's said to the world in her music so far, and what she wants to achieve in the long run/leave behind/be remembered for herself. I think the original album was funk-rock-disco inspired with a bit of darkness. I reckon that Perfect Illusion made it's way from the first draft of LG5 fairly unchanged, because it has all those influences. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
