StarstruckIllusion 41,770
I don't understand the over repeated phrase: "The Cure was released to mend Gaga's; radio, streaming, etc." what? Why are people saying that? How is The Cure supposed to mend her relationship with the radio, when her broken relationship is completely based on her non trendy music, and non trendy music alone? Is this a cultural relevance thing? If this was supposed to be an attention grabber to make people stream her: she just got it with the SuperBowl and Coachella. A new song, was not needed. Perfect Illusion was just meh to the radio and Spotify users. I love it, but they, completely shrugged it off their shoulders once the initial hype died down. They just didn't like the song for some reason, maybe because it was gritty, and sounds like an 80s rock track. The Cure however, is current, and pop, and fun and relatable. It's what the GP has been begging for from Gaga. What happens if she releases Perfect Illusion 2.0 next era though? Or next single? Do you really think the radio will be like "well we don't like this, but The Cure was great, so we'll spam this new one like it's The Cure." No, it's completely song based. So if The Cure is supposed to "fix her streaming", then watch out, because the next song could just as easily break it. Idk how The Cure is supposed to fix anything but her cheque income (Jk) Thoughts?
Squeeshy Keety 9,908
Look to ARTPOP, where DWUW was a straight up banger that should have gone at least top ten. The public was sick of her, tabloids were bashing her, and the radio was impacted in a major way by how people thought of her Now that her image is in a major upswing (past just the glamour now that people know she's talented and not attention seeking), it seems like a great way to fix a lot of the bias around her would be through another hit. Cure () the bias, fix her place on the radio (even if just a little). Plus, some people call her "over," and a hit would prove them wrong And it's no secret that once an artist has radio momentum, it keeps them going for a bit. It's not a coincidence that, say, Shawn or Alessia Cara have had multiple songs on the radio where other artists really haven't had any. Hits propel future songs and give them a better chance on the radio, and TC just might be that They / Them 🏳️🌈
FrankGutz 9,499
lol, because since BTW she/her team made some bad choices about singles, so radios barely were playing her plus when the ARTPOP era finished ,(without a big hit) streaming was becoming tha ****, with ,katy, Ariana and others artist gaining momentum, ,gagz were losing strenght with streaming/rdios, she needed it MR & now ,the cure, somehow with a trendy sound ti fix this & gain more followers on streaming services/keep the momentun on radio so they wont abandon her again MANDY MOORE | LADY GAGA | SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR
