Is The Cure about Sonja?

I think the song can have multiple interpretations. At first I thought it was a tribute to us. After she released that video with Prince William, I believed it was intended to bring light to mental health issues and show how love and human connection can help.  Now I also see it as a dedication to her dear friend.

It all makes sense

It definitely fits but the lyric "may not have the fancy things" still throws me off, cause Gaga is obviously loaded. 🤔

I think in this line she is telling the person that, contrary to popular belief, even though she is very rich, her home is very simple and not as luxurious as it could be

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Reality

I just recently saw another comment on here talking about how The Cure is about Sonja, and as I was listening to the song, it does seem like every lyric could fit the sitatuion.

I think it's more open-ended, like much of her other songs, but this could very well be one interpretation of it!

This is going to by best at debunk that The Cure is not sexual.

"I'll undress you, 'cause you're tired

Cover you as you desire

When you fall asleep inside my arms"

Cancer patients usually have very little energy left.

"May not have the fancy things

But I'll give you everything

You could ever want, it's in my arms

So baby tell me yes

And I will give you everything"

Gaga has the money to make most of it go away, if she says yes.

"I'll fix you with my love

And if you say you're okay

I'm gonna heal you anyway

Promise I'll always be there"

Sonja helped Gaga through the darkest time of her life, and Gaga will do the same.

"Rub your feet, your hands, your legs

Let me take care of it, babe"

Cancer is said to be one of the most painful things the body can go through.

"Close your eyes, I'll sing your favorite song

I wrote you this lullaby

Hush now baby, don't you cry"

Sonja thought Gaga a song, and Gaga wrote one for her. See Grigio Girls.

"Anything you want could not be wrong"

Gaga is willing to do anything no matter the cost, as life is not wrong.

And she seems to sing the song in this nurturing, caring voice.

"May not have the fancy things" is probably there just to rhyme, maybe DJWS wrote it:poot: it sounds relatable.

Otherwise it's clever how it can be interpreted as a love song or towards fans or a friend who is literally ill.

Now that I think about it, none of the lyrics are overtly romantic or sexual
