Some of her best performances have been on the VMA stage and it always help her to sell. It's not essential but it's definitely a sales-boost which I imagine is always a good thing. My thought on Gaga on VMAs this year: She's not performing, for sure. If the song was supposed to be released in early September, then maybe she would've performed..
