Nintendo were in trouble when they released the Wii U. We know nothing about the NX, or the launch titles for it. So we have no idea if they are in trouble but they are in a much better position than they were with the Wii U.

If the hardware is as good as it looks and they are using this year off (which is essentially what 2016 is for them) to make quality games for the NX, then 2017 will likely be very good for them.

There is no upside to churning out more games for the Wii U at this point. Sorry to say.

Lol, no doubt that Nintendo hasn't been doing well with the Wii U but muscled out? They could put out another 3 shitty home consoles and still be fine because the brand is so huge. If they play their cards right the NX should do just fine.

Nintendo has "been in trouble" for the past decade and they're doing just fine :nails:

WiiU has a solid library of fun first party games, the problem is they botched the launch and so no one bought it so those titles went out to a low install base.  Nintendo's only problem is their inability to capture third party developers and get the big multiplat titles that make or break a console.  WiiU is like a dedicated Nintendo machine and NX needs to be a video game platform.  WiiU died the second they named it "WiiU" instead of giving it a proper name, I'll go to my grave saying that.  Marketting screwed over the WiiU, not really the tech.  Sure it wasn't as strong as the other two, but it can still do some impressive **** (Xenoblade X comes to mind).

It was marketted as a fancy controller not a new game box, that was it's major issue.  Because the Gamepad is a fantastic controller and if the system had the chance under a proper name, it probably would have done way way better.

Nintendo's gonna be fine, they're not going anywhere.  Their IPs are too iconic and have too big a mass appeal for them to be in any real trouble.
