InsideOutright 1,118
Applause would have charted higher if not for the high amount of other songs overshadowing it, plus it didn't even start to chart until shortly before the 2013 holidays, so after the Christmas freeze, everyone forgot about it. A lot of songs that don't seem suited for AC suddenly become hits, like Wake Me Up, Blurred Lines, or Dark Horse (when you take away Juicy J's rap of course). WMU is STILL getting played like it's 2014. The other day, my local station played it twice less than three hours apart. Same for Thinking Out Loud. Can it just die already? So nice to see Gaga on this chart again. Hope the LG5 lead charts here, too. The more radio appreciation, the better. This was the AC chart when Applause peaked (week of 11/30/2013): Spoiler 1. Roar - Katy Perry 2. Brave - Sara Bareilles 3. Love Somebody - Maroon 5 4. Gone, Gone, Gone - Phillip Phillips 5. Mirrors - Justin Timberlake 6. Just Give Me a Reason - P!nk ft. Nate Ruess 7. Cups - Anna Kendrick 8. Stay - Rihanna ft. Mikky Ekko 9. When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars 10. Royals - Lorde 11. Everything Has Changed - Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran 12. Safe and Sound - Capital Cities 13. True Love - P!nk ft. Lily Allen 14. Treasure - Bruno Mars 15. Wake Me Up - Avicii 16. Close Your Eyes - Michael Buble 17. Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell Williams 18. New - Paul McCartney 19. Let Her Go - Passenger 20. Counting Stars - OneRepublic 21. Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson 22. Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus 23. Demons - Imagine Dragons 24. Applause - Lady Gaga 25. Home Again - Elton John 26. Bruises - Train ft. Ashley Monroe 27. Sending You a Little Christmas - Johnny Mathis & Jim Brickman 28. Run Run Rudolph - Whitney Wolanin 29. This Christmas - Mary J. Blige 30. Unconditonally - Katy Perry
