Benji 20,113 Posted December 20, 2015 Share Posted December 20, 2015 Okay, I was bored and decided to do some digging around and I got sidetracked by Rob Fusari / Cary Nokey and I started listening to his EP.  Notice track eight? 1derful ? Well, yeah, you guessed it! It's a 'cover' of Wonderful! Then, I noticed another track with a 1 in it.... No 1 Can No? Anyway, I listened to it and do you know what... it sounds like a 2006 Gaga song! These are the only two tracks on the EP that follow the same kind of sound scheme so check it out! It seems like a bizarre thing to do, just randomly insert a 1 into two songs, when one of those is a Lady Gaga track? Hmmm.... ChicaSkas 21,060 Posted December 20, 2015 Share Posted December 20, 2015 I really have to be careful around here what I say because of some people on this site who sent me hate mail about liking this guy at all and for any reason...  Now I may be biased because I like this style of music anyway, so everything I say is just an opinion that I have, not the gospel truth. Truth in music is entirely up to the individual -- you either like it, for your own personal reasons, or you don't. Everyone is entitled to that. And just because I like his music DOESN'T MEAN I don't support Gaga, or care about Gaga, or love Gaga's music any less. But YES , I can say safely it's not hard to see the references in a lot of Cary Nokey's music to the sound of the Fame Era. it's one of the reasons (other than my already present love of 70s and 80s music) that I found it so easy to find pleasure in his music. It's just good stuff. Listening to it makes me happy, like hundreds of other artists I listen to, that give me the same feeling. His voice grows on you creatively after a while, he's got so much experience in the kind of music that he creates that none of it is really unpleasant. Wonderful is an excellent song, her version is great, so is his, for their unique individual qualities.
