Your cutting skills are great, maybe you could work/experiment with Colors and Color Schemes that make the Emotion that you want the Viewer to feel more clear. If you have a sad Video, Black and White or dark blue are great for a 'cold' feeling, or Red is more of a love intimate color. You know?
