She has more than 230 gold and platinum albums worldwide, making her a candidate for the best-selling female recording artist of all time"  I found out that because of some rules, she's ineligible to be on he list  All artists included on this list have their lowest available claimed figure(s) supported by at least 15% in certified units. That is why Cliff Richard, Alla Pugacheva, Charles Aznavour, Bing Crosby, Nana Mouskouri, Deep Purple, The Jackson 5 and A. R. Rahman have not been included on this list. The percentage amount of certified sales needed increases the newer the artist is, so artists that started appearing on the charts before 1975 are only expected to have their claimed figures supported by at least 15% in certified units    Nana is the biggest Greek singer of all times, and kept on massive sales in previous decadesHer power is told to be unparalleled   Considering that back then sales were massive, she could have most likely sold 400M But I'm not sure if it's true or not? Anyway, well I have doubts about that considering that she hasn't really ever been any kind of presence in The world you know? Its still all speculation. I find it doubtful she would sell that much in Southern Europe etc. Though it's a long period of time though and a long time ago so I suppose it could be possible but doesnt really mean anything in The end of The day.... hmm 979 Posted October 15, 2015 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Well, the OP has a completely unspecified source, so it's hard to determine its validity or whatever, but from what I've seen people have also claimed that Nana's reported sales come from a random journalist - but that again is no more sourced than the OP. For all purposes and intents, there's no reason to assume that anyone other than Madonna is the best selling female artist.
