It is for artists and labels, they make next to nothing on streaming.

piracy is killing the industry. There won't be big pop stars because there won't be money.

But labels highly push streaming, at least the big ones I know.

Labels make money from:

* streaming (services like Spotify that pay out more money than YouTube or SoundCloud)

* 360 deals (incl. touring see Live Nation, incl. management see Roc Nation)

* there is still money to make with sales at the moment
