Posted on March 13, 2010 by Patricia with 4 commentsWhen I saw Gaga during the dancing scene, I thought about Lynda Carter in Superwoman. Her outfit was crafted by Haus of Gaga and the metallic thigh high boots are from Christian Louboutin Fifre serie. I saw them available in ankle, knee and thigh high. In black, red, grey and sand… so I believe Gaga’s metallic ones were custom made. Superwoman Honey B is wearing this silk one-of-a-kind wonder with Swarovski triangle crystals embellished bodice by OLIMA. The stripe effect you see is about 200 individually sewn red and white silk chiffon strips! For those of you who asked me whether there was some NOKI art involved in the outfits for dancers… … it was, you eagle eyes! This will be a hell of a fashion ride and I can’t wait to bring you all the details and exclusive pieces of information I’ll be able to find out during my virtual fashion trips all around the world. “Boy, the way you blowin’ up my phone won’t make me leave no faster, put my coat on faster, leave my girls no faster…” The distroyed denim shorts Beyoncé wears are by OLIMA and were made exclusively for the video. And if you’re not able to say who designed the jacket at the first sight… … I’m absolutely positive you will the moment I show you these two pieces Gaga wore, created by the same designer. You said it! The responsible for this awesomeness is Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Adooorable (and oh so desirable) from every single angle. The blue heavily embellished (just the way I like it) jacket… … as well as the matching pumps belong to Jean-Charles de Castelbajace Spring 2010 Pirates, Parrots & Paradise Collection. So here it comes. The photo I promised plus some more I thought you would love to see. Suspended between two points of being, caught in the middle of two realities… The themes and images of Bram Stoker’s Dracula were a starting point for Gemma’s AW 2010 collection. Black only. With (as always) a great focus on details. Playing with unconventional materials and contrasts. The extraordinary pieces of jewelry created by Katie Rowland complete the looks to perfection. Good news for you, gentlemen: this is Gemma’s first collection for both sexes! You know how much I love meeting all the magic handed designers, artists and crafsmen Gaga works with personally and this man is another living prove of the fact that if you follow your vision and your dream, if you really focus and give it all your love and energy, if you don’t give up, you’ll get to your dream destination… … and even further. I’m talking about Dr. NOKI. The artist behind one of the Mickey masks Gaga wore in her “Manifesto” interlude. The reason he started making the masks back in 1997 was “a need to remove my personnel self from the glair of the globalised eye of the viewer. I understood that the publications wanted visuals to go along with my NOKI reasonings, but I decided I wanted the viewer to be arrested by something they were so familiar with. I wanted them to dislike, reject, pull away from… All the opposite reactions to the Mickey brand we as kids grow up to embracing as one of our own… it’s Family brand you might say… This brand is thicker than water… I wanted to dilute this false blood… From making them for over 10 years it’s become a delight to get these positive reactions, viewers want to rip them off in frustration to see who is beneath them… Mickey is now being grabbed and crushed in the hand of rejection… This to me is positive subversive anarchy…” This is the NOKI Mickey mask Gaga wore in the video (if you, eagle eye, think the man beneath the mask is stylist Judy Blame, all I have to say is: bingo!). But NOKI is not only about masks. Not at all. Doctor and his clothing reconstructor team carefully hand pick the right second hand garments and re-work them into ethical bespoke one of a kind pieces of clothing. Eclectic. Bold. Always with a clever twist. The art of NOKI customisation is a statement against mass produced fashion branding. Remember the jacket Gaga Dazed Digital film? And look at this… Photos by Morgan White. … and this… … and thiiis… And the more NOKI art I see,… … the deeper I fall for his work. Remember that each and e.v.e.r.y. piece you saw and see here is one of a kind. Genie, if you read this, and I know you do, above and below is my NOKI wishlist. Everything. Anything. Something. Pleeease… If you just fell for NOKI too, you’ll be happy to hear that after 13 years of pioneering street couture, one-off ready to wear, all the hard work paid off. 123 store that opens this Spring will dedicate the whole floor to showcase the first Dr. NOKI’s House of Sustainability collection called “Plaid, Sweat and Years Collection”. So here is the promise: Next time I travel to London, I’ll make an appointment with Dr. NOKI and bring you a special right from his floor at 123 store. Exclusive photos taken just for you included. The woman beneath the mask will be me! And before I leave you a bonus for all my ladies and their better halfs. A close-up of the NOKI Mickey nipple tongue piece! I told you: One off. Eclectic. Bold. And always with a clever twist! This time she went from two to four costume changes! Ready? |
