FASHION meets Jeffrey Bryant

Oh guys, I’m soo thrilled I can share this one with you.

He’s definitely one of the hardest to find people my inner fashion hungry Sherlock researcher has ever tried to get in touch with. Mission succesfully accomplished. And I’m so grateful I had a chance to meet him.

Jeffrey Bryant has been working in fashion in London for about 30 years. And what he loves to do the most are stage clothes. He has created one of a kind pieces for Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Duran Duran (you can read a great interview with Jeffrey on Duranasty), George Michael and Pet Shop Boys to name just a few, but also for many TV commercials, pop videos and films.

He has made so many tailor made stage costumes, tour wardrobes and bespoke pieces of art, it would be impossible to show you all of them here, so below are just some of my favourites.

Ready to travel back in time with me?

Just push the “back to the 20th century” button and off we go…

Faaabulous vintage treasures from the 90′s…

Adore these crystal chandelier head-dresses…

Wouldn’t mind trying on this dangerously sexy stainless steel spiky wonder Jeffrey calls “Faye Dunaway” outfit and…

And these are just some of the costumes created for Pet Shop Boys he has worked for 19 years with…

You can keep travelling and find your favourites on Jeffrey’s Myspace or The Blitz Kids. Check them out and make sure you let me know your personal picks!

Our girl has rocked two dresses created by Jeffrey Bryant so far.

The black lace dress she wore for the M.A.C. presentation…

“Was a simple dress cut in chevrons to add some excitement. The black plastic flower by Chalie le Mindu crowned the outfit. Nicola Formichetti and Gaga twist the outfits together in the most delicious way”.

The second one was the black yellow dress Gaga was seen wearing while leaving London…

“Was lame finished lycra (not rubber as reported). It has 60 segments, and took about 4 days to work out the pattern, and make.”

“I have so much respect for Gaga. I am honoured to work for her. Her message goes out to millions. The energy and power she is giving to the children all over the world. Being part of the Gaga family, they get to meet people they wouldn’t have met otherwise. It will transform their lives. The power of fashion.”

And I’m so lucky I could share a while with Jeffrey. He’s been in my life since quite some time now (realized that when I saw some of his works from the 80′s and 90′s), I just didn’t know that… He’s a great example of the fact that the most gifted people on top of loving their job, are hard workers, grateful for every single detail, respectful and so humble and down to earth it gives you goosebumps…

P.S. Salvo, I wouldn’t be able to write above now if it wasn’t for you, thank you so much!

Have a very Gaga 2010!

I want to thank you guys for all your support. For each and every e-mail, comment and tweet I got. For all your sweet words that make the effort sooo worth it. For all the questions, suggestions and help. I’m repeating myself, but I don’t care: Gaga is a very lucky lady for having such a magnificent family of fans.

I also want to send my love to all the artists and designers Gaga worked with and who kindly shared with me their photos, sketches and feelings. You can’t imagine how grateful I am for all those inspiring virtual get-togethers with these extraordinary human beings.

It’s been only four month since I met you here for the first time, but feels so much longer.

And there will be even more fashion on FASHION in 2010:

1. I’ll keep doing my best in IDing all the outfits our girl is going to rock this year. Also, if there’s any look you loved and I didn’t talk about on FASHION, drop me a line to gagadailyfashion@gmail.com (if you are not sure, check the Category list in the sidebar).

2. Will try to resolve more “fashion mysteries” from the Research in progress file.

3. There are some of them that made their way from RIP to WIP (work in progress) file already and I hope I’ll bring you more details about soon.

lady gaga rip wip

4. Will bring you more exclusive interviews, included the one with Keko Hainswheeler whose creations you ask me very often about and love so much.

lady gaga keko hainswheeler

5. More Show Times! More chances for you to show how creative you are, send Gaga your love and let her know how much she inspires you.

Next one will be about your Gaga inspired hair creations. Check out the site on Monday for more information and deadline.

6. One of your most frequent questions “where can I find this?” or “where can I get something like that?” inspired me to create two new sections for you: “Go Gaga” and “Rock Her Style”.

“Go Gaga” will be about the outfits, shoes, accessories… our girl wore and I found for you in some of the online shops.

“Rock Her Style” will feature pieces similar to those from her closet. Garments, heels, bags… in the style of Gaga.

You can start sending me your requests ;)

7. Plus many surprises I have in my head and others I’m already working on. Won’t reveal more but I’m sure you will love’em.

I wish you an awesome year. Full of great ideas and great music. Full of great fashion spots and choices. Full of love, because where there is love and positive energy, magic happens.

I wish us all a very Gaga 2010!

Love you all.

Share this with your friends and followers.

FASHION meets Orschel-Read Couture

I’m more than sure you’ll remember Lady Gaga “Wetten Dass..?” look. For me those pants are simply unforgettable.

Just had a short “3 questions” brunch with Stefán Orschel Read, the man behind Orschel Read Couture. One of those brief but fabulous virtual “fashion bite” get togethers.

FASHION: What are the first three words that come instantly to your mind when I say “Lady Gaga style”?
Stefán: “Transgressive Gender Illusion”.

FASHION: What is your most favourite look Gaga has ever wore?
Stefán: “Our trousers she wore on “Wetten Das..?” of course ;)

FASHION: What would you chose for the next TV appearance?
Stefán: “One of our couture leather jackets from S/S 2010″.

I invite you to visit Orschel Read Couture site and go through both the RTW and Couture Spring 2010 collections inspired by Twelfth Night by Shakespeare and multicultural youth of London. You’ll be blown away.

The third collection you’ll find there is “Mourning for Orlando”. J’adore.

This is my absolute favourite piece from this collection. The cut. The shape. The tailoring. Oh my… Wouldn’t you even sleep in it if it was yours?

The only thing I’m able to say is…

… oh boy you’ve left me speechless… you’ve left me speechless so speechless…

FASHION meets Yoshiko Creation Paris

I promised you not so long ago we will be meeting Yoshiko Creation Paris here on FASHION again.

Words can’t describe how happy I am for being able to keep my promise and very gratefull it’s precisely FASHION who brings you all the exclusive photos and pieces of information.

We talked about the black Umbrella Hat you adored. And about another creation of hers Gagita wore. She played the “First 3 Words” game with me. And even helped me to ID the black velvet dress our girl has chosen for her memorable “Imagine” performance during the Human Rights Campaign’s 13th Annual National Dinner.

Thank you, Yoshiko!

This is one of my favourite headpieces Gaga has ever worn and your love lines you dropped me only confirm a lot of you feel the same way (big thanks to Leon B. a.k.a Gagamonster for this picture he sent me some time ago and I kept like a treasure until today).

lady gaga yoshiko creation umbrella hat

We’ve been calling it Umbrella Hat since the very first moment we saw it but the actual name of the piece is “B-612″ – inspired by “The Little Prince” house-sized planet/asteroid he came from (I don’t like the book. I adore it. And have it in 5 different languages so the moment I was told the name, I fell in love with the piece even deeper).

The hat was made as a part of Yoshiko Creation Paris Fall 2005 collection. But has never made its way to the catalogue. So it actually was a world premiere when our girl donned it in the Music Japan TV program!

And before you ask me where you can get it, the headpiece is one of a kind creation made from an antique umbrella. But who knows, maybe Yoshiko auctions it one day. And if so, I’ll let you know.

When I asked Yoshiko about what 3 words come instantly to her mind when I say “Lady Gaga style”, she said: “Artisanal, Avantgarde, Exciting!”.

Her favourite Gaga look is the MMVA performance outfit with the Haus of Gaga fireworks bra, the “Paparazzi” Thierry Mugler robot outfit and also all the garments Lady Gaga designed herself.

To my last question about what she’d chose for our girl to wear for the next performance, TV appearance or red carpet, she told me she loves the fact Gaga doesn’t have a conventional idea of fashion and is expressing herself through clothing, accessories and things she wears and uses.

And these are some of the pieces Yoshiko would love Gaga to wear:

Amazing, aren’t they? And what about these two wonders from Yoshiko Creation Paris Spring 2010 “Katharsis” collection?

I would so looove to try the golden awe on…

I also asked Yoshiko about this smoking hot pipe bra some of you wanted to know more about.

She was inspired by Man Ray‘s work and this fully functional “pipe” is from the Fall 2007 collection.

And when I got the photos from the catalogue and behind the scenes…

… and saw the black velvet dress I was not able to ID until then, I just had to go on and pop the question.

The black cutesy…

… is from Olivier Bobin‘s FADE Fall 2007 collection.

The FASHION standing ovations and my trademark crunchy hug today fly to Yoshiko! And also to Nicola Formichetti for introducing us new and unbelievably talented designers all the time.

And for those who loved “The Little Prince” as much as I did, please let’s never ever forget the very simple secret: “It’s only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye”.

Lady Gaga in Erickson Beamon

This is for all those of you who loved Lady Gaga’s (L)ACE headpiece as much as I did and were wondering who created such a stunning and bold accessory.

The responsible Lady Magic Hands behind the head jewel is Karen Erickson from Erickson Beamon.

Lady Gaga was wearing their Black Chantilly Lace Jett Mantilla made from vintage Spanish Combs that have been pavéed.

This is the latest exclusive FASHION can proudly share with you. I was kindly sent a couple of never seen pictures so you could virtually touch the beauty.

Karen made the piece “for the Spring/Summer 2009 Anna Sui runway show but it was never used. We were trying to make it Victorian Punk Spanish and it took a year for someone to appreciate it. We are very happy to be a part of this “Gagasphere”.

And we are happy it was our Lady Gaga who wore the Erickson Beamon Black Chantilly Lace Jett Mantilla Karen created like nobody ever could.
