Lady Gaga called 104.7 Kiss FM’s Johnjay and Rich show to talk about her music, her new arena tour and her upcoming video for “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé.

Its a genuine concern but I don’t think that will be the case. Her song bad romance debuting at #9 doesnt necessarily mean because telephone debuted low that it wont go number one. Partly I believe alot of attention has been given to bad romance so that right now is the measuring stick, but it has been known since the video era a great video can catapult a song to number one. great audio plus great video could mean number one. So if the telephone video is better than the bad romance video Look out it could be another number one bye bye tik tok. Note: Bad Romance has surpassed Please Dont Stop The Music 108mil views to110mil views and it has only been out two months.

Telephone hasn’t been released as a single yet, people. Songs usually start to climb the charts after the music video is released and after the song is released as a single. Look at Bad Romance. It topped the charts like right after the music video was released.

that’s true, but imma be just got really popular lately probably because they performed it at the grammys. i agree with others, once the video is released and it’s put out as a single, it’ll probably climb the charts. if the video’s as great as gaga’s hyping it up to be (and i’m sure it will be) it will probably start getting a ton more airplay and whatnot. and even if it doesn’t get to number 1, it’s not the end of the world. it won’t make gaga any less popular/talented/fabulous and we will all still love her.

Imma Be was around #3 on iTunes before the Grammys, which is pretty high. I do believe the Telephone video will boost sales, but I don’t know if it will be enough to get it into the top 10. I’ll be crossing my fingers.

I think telephone is doing just fine. Its airplay is already sky-rocketing,so by the time the song is officially released n the video is out, its sales n airplay peak has a chance of being strong enough to push it to #1.

with bad romance,its sales peaked way to early,it was #1 on itunes for 4 weeks,so by the time it was #1 on airplay its digital sales had fallen. Anyway bad romance is still doing WAY to well for telephone to smash…I say DIE BAD ROMANCE, n give way to telephone Also a lot of people are still confused with that rubbish videophone, so when they see telephone on itunes they assume its videophone. A lot of my friends don’t even know about telephone as yet. The video is going to solve the confusion between the two songs.

I was one of them that thought telephone was another version of telephone til i actually listened to it. Its ten times better than video phone. Can you believe she has had eight top twenty songs in just over a yr though that is simply amazing! Peace and Love to Lady Gaga xoxoxo.

As far as Telephone being a #1, I definitely think it could reach it. The song hasn’t even been officially released as a single, and they play it constantly on the radio station I listen to.

Just as tik tok ruined bad romance’s chance at #1 on HOT 100 (not pop songs chart), blah blah blah will ruin telephone’s chance at #1

Man when you listen to the second interview they kinda sound like assholes. It did seem like they were twisting her words. It was so cute but so sad hearing GaGa at the end asking the guy not to let them air the \we are the world\ thing. Ahh i love GaGa why are interviewers always such douches? Telephone has been released as a single in the U.S anyway it went to radio @ the end of Jan. debuted @ #30 and peaked @ #20 I think its still in the top 20

It is so fascinating to hear her talking so candidly to her record company representative, DJ’s, etc. You can tell that she’s really trying to get things right and be nice in the process.

She seems like an honest, genuinely nice person who is also smart and trying to represent herself truthfully. I love her more every day.

To be honest, as SOON as I heard Telephone via her album release, I already had a feeling that it’d be a gigantic hit. I’ve been looking at the e-billboard charts for the past couple of weeks and I’ve been noticing its quick ascension, despite it not being a single yet. Wasn’t that how Bad Romance was released? BR came out right around the time of halloween and it sounded weird at first, then once the holidays came in, it evolved into a mega radio and club smash.

I really don’t mind that ke$ha is dominating the charts with Tik Tok, because when it comes down to it, i’ve heard kesha’s entire album and she only has a handful of potential hit tracks. If they ever top gaga chart wise, they won’t be able to surpass the longevity of how Tik Tok’s taken everything over on the charts right now. Once the Telephone video is released tomorrow, I know that MTV, VH1 and Fuse are going to be all over this because its just an incredible song that can instantly get you moving.

Give it a couple of weeks, by the time that spring actually begins, Telephone will be everywhere like Bad Romance is. Then Alejandro will be our introduction into the summer.

Completely agree.
Plus Gaga’s both albums are still selling like crazy, so people are getting the song from the album.

But as soon as the video is released its going to be poison, Gaga’s videos always add to the popularity of the song.
